How much do you charge?

I charge $25 per hour for design services.  I will provide an estimate of design time that is competitive, so I only charge by the value to you, not how much actual time it takes me to design.  I don't make you pay for any of my inefficiencies.

Print cost varies, but about 25 to 30 cents per cubic centimeter of material is a good starting point.  The cost is dependant on the material weight, which depends on what density of print.  Solid prints are strong but take a lot of material and longer to print.  Larger objects can be just as strong at lower density since the interior is honeycombed by the print process.

How do I pay?

We can invoice you via Square or Paypal so you can use your credit card to pay.  I will start work immediately after invoice approval and let you know when I expect to ship as well as keep you apprised of any progress.

The Square or Paypal charge is detailed in my invoice and is only 3% of the total.

If you contact me first through Makexyz.com, I am obligated to invoicing you for your first order through them.  (They typically charge a 20% fee on top of my invoice and delay payment to me for 11 days to assure their customers get the promised services.)  If you prefer that level of protection and don't mind paying the premium, I am happy to oblige.

How long does it take to get my product?

Creating designs can take a day to several weeks depending on complexity.  I will let you know approximately how long before sending the invoice.

If you provide a Thingiverse number, I can download and print from that file, but keep in mind that not all public files have been vetted by 3d printer owners like myself.  I may find that the model is corrupt.

I need to know if you have a color preference and some idea of how the part might be used so I can choose density and orientation of part for printing.

Prints generally take a day or two after invoice is approved.  Backlog or print errors can cause the print to be delayed for several days.  Shipping to anywhere in the US is dependent on USPS, but can be as little as 1 to 2 days with Priority Mail.


What’s your return policy?

I pride myself in providing a product that meets your satisfaction.  If I can't do that, I won't take the job or will refund your money.  I have never had a dissatisfied customer in my 5 years of selling 3D printing parts or services.


Do you ship oversees and to P.O. boxes?

I do not ship overseas but can ship to a P.O . Box or freight forwarder provided the credit card address and charge is valid.  I normally ship via USPS and will provide a tracking number.  If it is of high value or you are willing to pay for quicker delivery, I will ship via Priority Mail with insurance.


How is your customer service?

Contact me using the contact info page of this web site and describe what you are looking for.  Sending photos or sketches and an overall idea of size is very helpful.  I sometimes work on the customer concept for several hours even before asking for an invoice because I want to be sure I can be successful if I take the job.
